Cornwall Council, County Hall, Truro (Image: Richard Whitehouse/LDRS) Cornwall Council has apologised and paid £200 compensation to a resident who was left waiting for months to resolve a planning dispute. The Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman said it had upheld the complaint which was brought against the council earlier this year. It found that the council had been at fault for a delay in providing updates on a planning enforcement complaint that the resident, known only as Mrs B, had brought against her neighbour’s business. The ombudsman also found the council at fault for its communication approach “which has meant Mrs B received no updates on progress or responses to her complaints about the council’s handling”.
