The BNP chairperson underwent some tests at Evercare Hospital before her hospitalisation on Tuesday night, according to BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
“Her condition is stable. More tests on her are required, he said, adding that the former prime minister has sought the people s blessings .
One of Khaleda s physicians said she will return home after the doctors review the test reports.
The 76-year old politician, who has diabetes and arthritis, was diagnosed with COVID-19 on Apr 11. As many as eight staffers, including her personal carer Fatema Begum, at her home in Dhaka’s Gulshan have also tested positive for the disease.

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, who recently tested positive for Covid-19, was admitted to Evercare Hospital in the city last night.
The former prime minister was admitted under cardiologist Dr Shahabuddin Talukdar for medical checkup, her personal physician Dr AZM Zahid Hossain told The Daily Star.
Earlier in the day, Zahid had said Khaleda, who tested Covid-19 positive on April 11 and 24, would be taken to a hospital at night to undergo CT scan and some other medical tests.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir told journalists that Khaleda s health was stable and that she was admitted to the hospital for some tests.

BNP chairperson’s adviser Ziaur Rahman Khan dies of Covid-19
BNP Chairperson’s advisory council member and ex-MP Barrister Zaiur Rahman Khan died of coronavirus on Saturday night. He was 75.
Khan, also a senior lawyer of the Supreme Court, breathed his last around 10 pm at Impulse Hospital in the capital, said BNP assistant organising secretary Abdus Salam Azad.
He left behind wife, one daughter, one son and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
Khan was elected MP from Dhaka-20 four times with BNP’s ticket.
His father Ataur Rahman Khan was the Chief Minister of East Pakistan from September 1956 to 1958 until the promulgation of martial law.
