Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on Wednesday formed human chains throughout the country in protest at indictment against party’s acting Chairman Tarique Rahman and issuance of warrant for his arrest in a sedition case.
As part of the nationwide programme, BNP’s Dhaka south city unit arranged a human chain in front of Jatiya Press Club with its president Habib un Nabi Khan Sohel in the chair.
Addressing the event, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir alleged that the Awami League government has established a ‘reign of robbery’ by engaging in widespread ‘plundering and theft’ even amid the coronavirus pandemic.
