May Day celebration subdued in Tiruchi Updated: Updated: Share Article Tiruverumbur MLA Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi joins employees of BHEL for May Day celebration on Saturday.   Members of trade unions celebrated May Day by hoisting their organisation flags at industrial townships of BHEL, Ordnance Factory, High Energy Projectile Factory and Golden Rock Railway Workshop on Saturday in a subdued manner in view of the severity of the second wave of COVID-19 infection. Tiruverumbur MLA Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi joined employees of BHEL affiliated to Thozhilalar Munnetra Sangam in the celebration. Mr. Mahesh addressed the gathering and distributed sweets. Members of CPI(M) and Democratic Youth Federation of India celebrated the day by hoisting their party flags at their homes in Gandhi Nagar and Selvapuram in Tiruverumbur area.

Pinarayi Vijayan Pinarayi Vijayan is an Indian politician and the current chief minister of Kerala. Serving since May 12, 2016, Vijayan is the 12th CM of the state. Photo: Twitter/@AravindBalacha7 Politics16 hours ago New Delhi: A 15-year-old boy was stabbed to death on Wednesday, April 14, night outside a Padayanivettom temple in Kerala’s Alappuzha district by a group of four men during a temple festival. The deceased has been identified as Abhimanyu, a class 10 student, and a resident of Padayanivettom. Two others were injured during the attack, and are currently being treated at a local hospital. The incident has created ripples in the state with CPI(M) and Left parties describing it as a “political murder” and calling it a handiwork of BJP-RSS. However, police are yet to ascertain the reason behind the murder and said the investigation is underway. No arrests have been made so far.
