Two in particular may be intertwined for Fairfax, Virginia-based ICF in technology modernization and public health areas that are being highlighted during the coronavirus pandemic.
On ICF’s fourth quarter earnings call with investors Thursday, CEO John Wasson highlighted the White House’s proposal to include $9 billion in IT modernization and cybersecurity funding as part of a new $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief bill likely to get through the Democratic-controlled Congress and get President Biden’s signature.
“We believe the new administration will likely drive critical IT modernization efforts that can support agency efforts to respond to COVID-19 and enhance delivery of digital services that citizens are demanding,” Wasson told analysts.

[I]t was the second time the Democratic-led House had passed the measure, known as the Equality Act, which seeks to amend the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to add explicit bans on discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in both public and private spaces.

On Thursday, the House of Representatives passed the so-called Equality Act by a vote of 224 to 206. While Democrats have marketed this legislation as a simple civil rights law designed to protect LGBTQ people from discrimination, it is far from that.
The statutory language instead provides for an extreme remaking of all aspects of society, destroys the promise of equality for women, and threatens religious liberty and the privacy rights of all Americans, especially children. The proposed law also will upend state and federal protections of the unborn yes, the Equality Act is about abortion too.
