Arnold Ahlert: Killing Jobs and Raising Energy Prices — The Patriot Post

New Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg has a dilemma: He can’t decide which method he prefers to use to take more of Americans’ hard-earned money and transfer it to government coffers. One one hand, it seems the former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, prefers a good old-fashioned tax increase on gasoline. “I think all options need to be on the table. The gas tax has not been increased since 1993, and it’s never been paid to inflation,” he stated during his Senate confirmation hearing last week. “And that’s one of the reasons why the current state of the Highway Trust Fund is there’s more going out than coming in. Up until now, that’s been addressed with general funding transfers. I don’t know whether Congress would want to continue doing that.”

WATCH: Biden Outlines Major Initiative Against Existential Threat Of Climate Change

Reprinted with permission from Alternet Embattled Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI), already under fire for his support of the Capitol insurrection and the big lie, and for saying he trusted the MAGA domestic terrorists over Black Lives Matter protestors, and for his record of spreading Russian disinformation, is now the target of mockery over his false claim about how Greenland got its name. There seems to be some GOP fascination with the autonomous territory that is a part of the Kingdom of Denmark. Although it spans more than 830 square miles, Greenland has a population of just 56,000 people. And President Donald Trump infamously wanted to purchase the island – perhaps because it s the largest in the world – or trade it for Puerto Rico.

Court Packing is on the Biden Administration s Agenda -- But Maybe Not in the Way Imagined

AP Photo/J. Scott Applewhite According to Politico, events are unfolding behind the scenes in the Biden Administration that will result in Joe Biden fulfilling one of his campaign promise the creation of a “commission” to “study” the current status of the Supreme Court and the Judiciary and to make recommendations on possible changes or improvements. This issue arose during the campaign following the death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and the nomination by Pres. Trump of Amy Coney Barrett to take her place on the Supreme Court.  The Senate went forward with the confirmation process rather than await the outcome of the election.  Democrat activists howled in outrage and began to demand that the Biden campaign pledge to support expanding the Supreme Court to add more Justices if the Democrats took control of both houses of Congress.
