(Bloomberg) President Joe Biden’s hopes for a bipartisan deal on the biggest infrastructure package in decades took a blow with the end of direct talks with the lead GOP negotiator, increasing the likelihood that Democrats pursue a sweeping, multi-trillion dollar package on their own.
Negotiations between Biden and Senator Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia ended with a phone call Tuesday after almost four weeks of efforts failed to bridge wide differences on both spending and funding. Each side blamed the other for intransigence.

(CNSNews.com) - Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) said on Tuesday that Democrats will not be able to do all the things that the country needs in a totally bipartisan.way.
He indicated that part of the Democrats massive infrastructure bill may pass with bipartisan support and part of it will be through reconciliation.
The reconciliation process allows passage of some budgetary legislation with 51 votes. Right now, with the Senate evenly divided, Vice President Harris would be the 51st vote.
