An unfinished build of what is assumed to be Windows 11 leaked online, and people are installing it. Based on early impressions, it looks like Windows users are in for a big overhaul: Screenshots show off an all-new macOS-like desktop layout, a redesigned Windows Explorer interface, new Start menus, and some of the best built-in wallpapers Windows has ever had.
Some folks are excited by the changes, others not so much, but it’s safe to say everyone’s at least
curious about Microsoft’s still technically unannounced operating system (it’s assumed the upcoming Sun Valley Windows 10 update will be renamed Windows 11). That said, you probably shouldn’t install the leaked Windows 11 update.

Fake update notifications download malware. (Source: McAfee)
Scammers are increasingly using Windows Push Notifications to impersonate legitimate alerts as a first step toward installing malicious Windows applications to harvest user and system information, according to a global report by McAfee. Browser push notifications can highly resemble Windows system notifications, the report states. Scammers are abusing push notifications to trick users into taking action.
In the report, researchers describe the social engineering tactics used to trick victims into installing a fake Windows Defender update.
Rather than sending out emails for a phishing campaign, attackers hack into pop-up notifications and use a fake one that disguises itself by using the McAfee name and logo to inform the victim about what is opurpirted to be a Windows Defender Update.

Q: I know this letter is hopelessly not as brief as possible, but I thought I d write it anyway. My Dell Windows 8.1 laptop s C drive has recently started filling up for unknown reasons, sometimes as much as 1 GB a day. I ve tried some of the fixes like disk defrag/cleanup, disabling hibernation, uninstalling old programs, deleting old restore points and, of course, the Recycle Bin is empty. While I gained some space in doing so it was a brief reprieve as I still continue to lose space regularly. I also wanted to try removing the Windows.edb file (I ve never used the Windows search anyway) but couldn t figure out how to do it.

StartIsBack++ restores original Windows 10 start menu with all its features: search, pinned and recently used apps, fully customizable settings. Start button and Start menu look and behave exactly as they used to in Windows 7.
StartIsBack is lightweight and secure: it does not require administrator rights to install, consumes minimal amount of system resources, does not run additional processes or services.
What s hot about StartIsBack on Windows 10 now:
Live badges for modern apps on taskbar and Start menu!
Ability to reduce resource usage by disabling newer Start menu and Cortana processes from prelaunching
Ability to use adequately sized (32x32) large icons and larger start menu button on taskbar
