The HCM City Management Authority for Urban Railways (MAUR) said the Long Binh - Binh Thai elevated section in District 9 in the newly established Thu Duc City will operate for a trial period in the fourth quarter before a final test of the entire metro line is completed.
Work began last week on the power supply system for the power stations along the line, according to MAUR.

The Fiji Police Force continues to train officers as it prepares to receive specialized maritime capabilities through the Japan International Cooperation System.
In 2018 the Japanese government committed to equip the Fiji Police Force with Maritime Safety and Security equipment, valued at close to $6 million under its Economic Social Development Programme.
The assistance is expected to improve the Force’s coast guard capacity by providing lifeboats and other maritime safety equipment.

These will be used for search and rescue efforts in coastal areas when disasters strikes. It will also positively impact disaster prevention and mitigation efforts.

Six-million dollars worth of specialized maritime equipment like rescue boats, underwater cameras and underwater communication equipment are expected to be handed over to the Fiji Police Force early next month.
It will be handed over by the government of Japan through the Japan International Cooperation Agency.
Police officers have been receiving online training on the use of the specialised equipment.
Discussions took place this week between Taisuke Iwano who is the Japanese Embassy First Secretary of Development Cooperation, Peni Saurara who is the Japanese Embassy’s Economic Research and Aid Coordinator and Fiji Police Force Director International Relations SSP Ulaiasi Ravula and ASP Ulaiasi Tamanisau on online training conducted to date and the official handing expected to take place next month.
