Global companies show confidence in Chengdu s economic engine
Chengdu in Southeast China s Sichuan province recently announced it is to expand service trade cooperation with its Japanese counterparts.
It came after the city was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission in April as one of six Chinese cities to build the demonstration area of China-Japan regional development cooperation.
In mid-November, Chengdu released its plan on constructing the demonstration area and nine projects for promoting the cooperation in service trade. They included transit-oriented development, collaborative innovation, animation video games and healthcare.
Along with these announcements, the city signed agreements with Japanese companies as the result of its promotion of the pilot cooperation projects for city construction and the modern service industry.

The Minister said the A.P. government has identified 10 focus sectors of interest for Japanese companies Minister for Industries Mekapati Goutham Reddy said the Government proposed to develop a second Japan Industrial Township (JIT) at Chittoor which is one of the nodes in Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor.
“The Government is offering special fiscal incentives to Japanese companies setting up manufacturing facilities in the JITs (the first one is at Sri City), especially to those shifting their bases from China along with their suppliers. As on date, about 25 Japanese companies are operating in the State.
“It recently cleared the establishment of an off-highway tyre manufacturing unit by Yokohoma Group.
Saudi, Japan extend private sector collaboration
RIYADH, December 17, 2020 Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Investment has furthered the kingdom’s private sector collaboration with Japan at the fifth Saudi-Japan Vision 2030 Business Forum, which took place virtually in Riyadh and Tokyo on December 16 and 17. The event was held in partnership with the Saudi-Japan Vision Office, Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry under the Saudi-Japan Vision 2030 umbrella. This year’s edition brought together over 300 Saudi and Japanese private sector and government leaders to explore the emerging business opportunities in the Kingdom’s tourism and entrepreneurship sectors.
