Press Briefing by Press Secretary Jen Psaki, April 20, 2021

MS. PSAKI:  Which provided additional clarification.  Q    But I guess my question is: Does the White House believe that those kinds of comments are helpful in the middle of this trial that everybody knows could lead to more violence and unrest?  MS. PSAKI:  Well, again, I can speak to what the President’s point of view is, which is that it’s important to provide an opportunity for peaceful protest.  That’s what he’s continued to advocate for, what he has consistently advocated for.  But I would also say that when somebody provides a clarification for their comments, that’s an important context to include in anybody’s reporting.

Press Briefing by Press Secretary Jen Psaki and Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm, April 8, 2021

James S. Brady Press Briefing Room 12:44 P.M. EDT   MS. PSAKI:  Hi, everyone.  Okay.  We have another member of the President’s Jobs Cabinet joining us today: Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm.   Secretary Granholm is just the second woman to lead the Department of Energy, where she will help America achieve President Biden’s goal of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. She’ll do this by advancing cutting-edge clean energy technologies, creating millions of good-paying union clean energy jobs, and building an equitable clean energy future.    Secretary Granholm was the first woman elected Governor of Michigan, serving two terms from 2003 to 2011.  As governor, she successfully led efforts to diversify the state’s economy, strengthen its auto industry, preserve the manufacturing sector, and add emerging sectors, such as clean energy, to Michigan’s economic portfolio.
