JUTC, Sanmerna bring Christmas cheer to special needs children

Sanmerna Foundation, Inspire to Empower a Change Foundation and the Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) joined together on Wednesday to bring Christmas cheer to more than 100 special needs children across the Corporate Area. The three organisations restructured the usual annual event this year and brought gifts to the home of the special needs children, with Santa and an Elf making the presentations. Before going to the homes, however, a function was held at the JUTC bus terminus in Half-Way Tree, with two special needs children getting gifts at the location where the annual event is normally held since it started four years ago.

VIDEO: Mother shares horror story of man stalking her child on buses

A woman has issued a warning to other parents to be more protective of their children after an unknown man attempted to harm her child on a Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) bus recently. The mother said the alleged stalker trailed her child on three separate buses as the child attempted to elude the accused man. The mother said on each occasion, the man got on each bus and seated himself behind her daughter. The mother in a video posted on social media said the man was cornered on the third bus in the Corporate Area. The man was eventually apprehended by the police, according to the woman. However, it is not clear whether he remains in police custody or if he was charged.
