Chennai, Jan 06: An open letter to the Tamil Nadu govt and actors Vijay, Simbu from a resident doctor at Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) in Puducherry saying I m tired after the state govt gave a go-ahead for movie theatres to run with 100 per cent capacity in the state has gone viral.

With some high profile releases just around the corner for the Pongal festival, the Tamil Nadu government had taken the decision.
The state government s decision came a day after actors Vijay and Simbu - who have big releases, Master and Eeswaran respectively, lined up for January - met Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, along with theatre owners. Many in the Tamil film industry have welcomed the decision.

The decision came soon after Tamil movie actor Joseph Vijay met EPS and requested that 100 per cent occupancy be allowed in theatres, particularly since the movie Master in which he features along with Vijay Sethupathy was releasing next week.

The Union Home ministry on Wednesday, asked the Tamil Nadu government to revoke its order allowing 100% seating in cinemas from the current 50% capacity. Government has categorically said that state government s decision diluted the guidelines issued by the Union ministry of home affairs (MHA).
The AIADMK government of the state, lifted the restrictions on movie theatres last week. State s revenue and disaster management department passed an order on January 4 to increase the seating capacity in cinemas, theatres and multiplexes to 100%.
