New Delhi [India], June 1 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired an important meeting regarding the prospect of Class 12 Board Examinations on Tuesday evening.
The meeting was attended by Union Ministers including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Prakash Javadekar, Railways Minister Piyush Goyal, Textiles Minister Smriti Irani, Petroleum, Natural Gas and Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, along with senior officials including Secretary of School Education and Higher Education.
Earlier today, official sources had informed ANI that PM Modi will be briefed on all possible options, as a result of the extensive discussions with all states and other stakeholders regarding the prospect of Class 12 Board Examinations.
CBSE board exams 2021: Class 12 examinations cancelled in view of COVID-19 pandemic
In the view of COVID-19 pandemic, CBSE Class 12 exams have been cancelled this year.
As reported by ANI, in view of uncertain conditions due to COVID-19 and feedback obtained from stakeholders, it has been decided that Class 12 Board Exams would not be held this year. CBSE to take steps to compile results of Class 12 students as per well-defined objective criteria in a time-bound manner.
Like last year, in case some students desire to take the exams, such an option would be provided to them by CBSE, as and when the situation becomes conducive. The results will be made as per well-defined objective criteria in a time-bound manner.

Commerce and Industry Minister Suresh Prabhu on Tuesday said India will host a meeting of about 40 WTO members in February to muster support for food security and other issues. We are trying to call a meeting of almost 30-40 countries (WTO ministerial) in Delhi in February just to help multi-lateral process, Prabhu said here at an event organised by Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC).
Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and Textiles Minister Smriti Irani also made similar references on Twitter to the tweets by Mishra.
Mishra had claimed that the joint letter by 12 Opposition leaders to Prime Minister Narendra Modi contradicted the stands taken by the political parties earlier. He said Rahul Gandhi and several Congress leaders had asked the Centre to allow state governments greater say in the procurement of vaccines, including the open market sale of vaccines at marginally higher prices.
“Problem with the joint letter by opposition politicians is that no one knows when to take these leaders seriously? For they recommended one thing one day and do a complete U-turn the next day. So which suggestion to accept? And when,” said Mishra, who was associated with Modi’s 2014 Lok Sabha election campaign.
