Twin Peaks).
Here’s a synopsis:
After a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies and allies from Chucky’s past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll’s untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster.
The series was originally set to begin production last year in Toronto, but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s currently expected to air later this year.
Once upon a time,
Chucky, the
Child’s Play TV series, was going to arrive in 2020. That didn’t happen thanks to the pandemic, and the show hasn’t even begun filming yet. But production is expected to begin soon – and now we know more about the cast. It’s already been reported that original Chucky
Brad Dourif would be lending his voice to the show, and that franchise player
Jennifer Tilly would be involved as well. Now it’s been reported that
Final Destination star
Devon Sawa is part of the cast, along with a group of younger actors who will no doubt find themselves running afoul of the killer doll.
Horror icon Devon Sawa joins Chucky TV series
Not only is the upcoming
Chucky series looking to course-correct after the recent reboot, but it’s also looking to make a splash of its own. Collider reports that Devon Sawa, the actor from hit horror-related films like
Casper,
Hunter Hunter, will join the USA/Syfy series’ growing cast.
Jeff Sneider notes in his report that Sawa has landed a “major role” on
Chucky and will actually play a set of twins on the show. Could he be twins that Chucky’s lover Tiffany had in
Seed of Chucky, or is Sawa part of this series’ fresh start? We know that Jennifer Tilly also on board to play Tiffany, joining the legend Brad Dourif, who is returning as the voice of Chucky.
