JACKSON CO (WSIL) -Jackson County Health officials remind everyone that the pandemic is not over.
They are now asking everyone, even if you are already vaccinated, to wear a mask if you are out in public.
Last week, Jackson County had 106 active COVID cases, and the number is now closer to 200 cases less than a week later.
Because vaccinated people can still get COVID, health officials recommend that everyone wears masks.
They also say the public should be mindful of social interactions, because you never know who is vaccinated and who isn t. Even if you re vaccinated, you might have a less severe case but you don t know who you could give it to who could have a very severe case and even death. So we are asking everybody to wear masks and just to monitor all of your activities and dial those back. We have to think where we were this time last year, said Paula Clark, Jackson County Health Department s COVID Operations Chief.
