City officials are continuing efforts to restore water to some pockets of Jackson Monday, nearly two weeks after winter storms affected the region.
During a news conference Monday, Jackson Public Works Director Charles Williams said the city s water system is still in the process of stabilizing itself. Pressure was near optimum levels on Sunday, but that has since fallen, Williams said.
Residents in south Jackson and some western pockets of the city still have little to no service as of Monday. Williams said he s aware people are suffering, but wanted to stress that crews are working as hard as they can to get water flowing to those areas.
