Minnesota reproductive rights advocates say if that happens more out-of-state residents could seek abortions here, or state lawmakers could seize on the momentum of the Supreme Court’s decision to pass more restrictions.
The Supreme Court recently decided to hear the case of Dobbs v. Jackson Womenâs Health Organization â a case, according to both pro-life and pro-choice advocates, that could lead directly to the repeal of the Roe v. Wade decision.
States with Republican-led state Legislatures and governors have been enacting laws to prohibit or to add more stringent restrictions regarding abortions in their states. And in some of these states, those laws would take effect immediately upon a repeal of the Roe decision. These states have been waiting for a test case to come before the court with an appropriate majority of conservative justices who are likely to do this. And now they have what they believe is such a case with a majority of justices in Dobbs.

Their concern is that the U.S. Supreme Court has accepted
Dobbs v. Jackson Women s Health Organization, which concerns Mississippi’s HB 1510 law banning abortions from being committed past 15 weeks for any reason other than physical medical emergencies or severe fetal abnormalities. Their ruling in that case might overturn the court s legalization of abortion in 1973. This has sent shockwaves to these pro-abortion Democrats where their highest goal and ideology is to promote abortion, comments Mat Staver, founder of Liberty Counsel. It is time in America that we return to the Constitution, and it is time in America that we return to an ethic that supports the sanctity of human life and makes the womb a safe place once again.
