But this was just the start.  Florida lined up on DB Milne Field Saturday against the unranked Jacksonville Dolphins with both teams eager to keep their win streaks alive. The Gators ran out of the locker room with their roster full of all-American threats. The Dolphins’ physicality gave UF a run for their money in a 12-11 match.

Mar 6, 2021 SALT LAKE CITY A low-scoring defensive battle at Crimson Field went the way of the visiting Jacksonville Dolphins, who came out with an 8-3 victory over Utah in the Utes home opener Saturday.   The defensive effort yielded the second-lowest scoring output by a Utah opponent this season, but the three goals scored marked a season low for the Utes.   I thought we had a great week of practice, so I didn t sense it there, but we definitely didn t handle pressure really well, said head coach Brian Holman. I thought we got manhandled there a little bit. I was really proud of our defense, though. I thought defensively our athleticism shows up. That s something I knew before the year started that most of our older, more veteran, guys are on the defensive side of the ball.

Florida Gators lacrosse cruises past Stetson on the road

Special report on the Florida Gators lacrosse team: DELAND, Fla. – The high-powered offensive attack of the sixth-ranked Florida lacrosse team led them past the Stetson Hatters 19-7 on Saturday afternoon. The Gators move to 3-1 on the year, while Stetson drops to 0-2. Florida had 11 different players score on Saturday afternoon, led by five goals from Shannon Kavanagh – a season-best mark. Ashley Gonzalez followed with a career-high three goals of her own, securing the first hat trick of her career. Maggi Hall and Paisley Eagan tallied two goals apiece on the afternoon, while Liz Harrison, Emily Heller, Danielle Pavinelli, Grace Haus, Shelton Sawers, Janine Suris and Kaitlyn Dabkowski each pitched in one goal. Harrison and Suris both registered their first career goals in the game.

Adams Delivers Walk-Off in Gator Softball Home Opener

In what was a battle of outstanding pitching and fielding, the number five Florida Gator softball team beat the Jacksonville Dolphins 1-0 Wednesday at home courtesy of Hannah Adams. Pitching Duel Not many pitchers had a better opening weekend than Jacksonville’s Alyssa Bilodeau. In the Dolphins’ first two games of the season, she shut down the Boston College Eagles over her nine innings pitched. She rounded up 16 strikeouts throughout those nine innings.
