(Jacksonville, FL) Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is ordering the return of the Pride flag lighting to Jacksonville s Acosta Bridge.
A spokesperson tells The Florida Times-Union the rainbow lights will be on tonight.
Jacksonville Transportation Authority says they were told by FDOT to take down the lights due to permitting issues. The Governor s Office says FDOT s permitting process is under review. The rainbow lighting scheme is marking Pride Month.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Transportation Authority will again light the Acosta Bridge in rainbow colors Wednesday night after being told Tuesday by the Florida Department of Transportation that its color scheme was “out of compliance” with its existing permit.
JTA lit the bridge in rainbow colors on Monday night, then returned to its usual blue color Tuesday night, despite having planned to keep the Acosta Bridge lit up in rainbow colors throughout the week for Pride Month.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. The Acosta Bridge will return rainbow colors Wednesday night in celebration of Pride Month after they were initially removed due to a compliance issue, according to the Governor s Office.
A spokesperson for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) says the state has a statewide Bridge Lighting Policy that was last revised in September 2020 that allows the department to facilitate all bridge lighting requests consistently, fairly, and impartially.
