Bilateral trade between China and Russia will see growth this year, despite a marginal decline last year, due to the strong synergy and solid fundamentals of the two sides, the Ministry of Commerce said on Thursday.
Gao Feng, a spokesman for the ministry, said that the two countries will jointly address COVID-19 pandemic-related challenges, while actively expanding bilateral trade and promoting new business forms and new models such as cross-border e-commerce.

China to greenlight RCEP in six months
China will complete the necessary domestic approval procedures for the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership agreement within six months, the Ministry of Commerce said.
“China commenced the process in December to ensure that everything goes well, and at the same time has been steadily preparing for the implementation of the pact,” Gao Feng, a spokesman for the ministry, said during a media briefing on Thursday.
A mega trade deal signed by China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand and 10 member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations on Nov 15 last year, the RCEP creates the world’s biggest free trade bloc, covering 2.27 billion people, or almost 30 percent of the world’s population, with a combined gross domestic product of $26 trillion, or about 30 percent of global GDP in 2019, data from the ministry showed.

Under the deal, the group s two contractors-China Railway 11 Bureau Group Co Ltd and China Railway 23 Bureau Group Co Ltd-will build construction projects spanning 39.79 kilometers, including railway beds, bridges and railway stations for the first phase of the 250-km-long line linking the Thai capital Bangkok and the northeastern province of Nakhon Ratchasima.
