  Dr. Willie Jolley interviews Juanita Campbell Rasmus and husband, Rudy Ramus, co-pastors of St. John s United Methodist Church in downtown Houston, TX. Bread of Life, Inc, a nonprofit corporation, founded by Rudy and Juanita Ramus in 1992, began serving 500 meals per day to the homeless in their sanctuary at St. John s UMC. Now they ve teamed up with Beyoncé and Tina Knowles-Lawson to help over forty thousand flood victims recover in the wake of Hurricane Harvey in Houston. They ve literally changed the landscape of Downtown Houston, providing an array of services to families in peril and homeless individuals. This includes distributing over 14 tons of fresh produce weekly to hungry families who have been financially challenged by the Coronavirus.

Feb 10, 2021 Dennis E. Van Horn, 62, of McAlisterville, passed away at 12:41 p.m., Monday, Feb. 8, 2021, at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Born on May 4, 1958 in East Salem, Juniata County, he is a son of the late Harold R. and Sara Jean (Barton) Van Horn. On June 1, 1991, he married his surviving wife, Karen M. (Foltz) Van Horn with whom he was blessed to share almost 30 years of marriage. In addition to his wife, he is survived by: one brother, Donald R. “Red” Van Horn of East Salem; one sister in law, Maggie Van Horn of Liverpool; two nephews, Brian Van Horn and family of East Salem and Shawn Van Horn and family of Lewistown; and one niece, Christy Gelnett and family of McAlisterville.
