It is alleged his offending occurred on May 9, 2020 in Mackay. The court heard the man lived interstate but had flown to Mackay to appear in court.

A Mackay man who says he carried around a butcherâs knife for self-defence against vigilantes was told his actions could have been âcatastrophicâ.
Mackay Magistrates Court on Monday heard police arrested Kasey Phillips Charles George at the Rural View Caltex service station in relation to another matter about 1pm on April 21.
Prosecutor Robert Beamish said when police then searched George, they found a butcherâs knife with a 27cm blade concealed in the front waistband of his shorts.
â(George) stated the knife was for use for protection or self defence against vigilantes that may be seeking him in relation to posts about him on social media,â Mr Beamish said.

Subscriber only A Mackay beauty salon owner facing serious drug charges has been granted bail after a magistrate found there was nothing to suggest what her role was in any alleged enterprise. Chloe Victoria Smith and Liam Michael Dunworth were allegedly found in a locked bedroom of a Rural View home with a significant amount of ice and cash, a court heard. Police raided the property on April 29 and allegedly found more than $15,345 and 10.99 grams of methylamphetamines. Both Ms Smith and Mr Dunworth have been charged with aggravated drug possession and possessing cash allegedly from drug sales. Mackay Magistrates Court heard when police executed a search warrant at the Cooper Court home where Ms Smith lived, she and Mr Dunworth were located in the main bedroom of the dwelling with the door locked .

Subscriber only A former Mackay police officer has faced court after his two-year-old child was left unattended in a car while he was drinking and gambling inside a CBD hotel. Mackay Magistrates Court heard the manager of the Boomerang Hotel called police on Boxing Day 2020 after the child was found alone inside an unlocked Toyota LandCruiser with the motor running in the carpark of the hotel. When police arrived, they found a two-year-old girl asleep in a child seat in the back of the ute, with no one else around. Prosecutor Rob Beamish said the child s father appeared soon after, telling police the car had been under constant watch by his partner.
