COTA Restores Express Routes For Commuters

A COTA bus in downtown Columbus in May 2020. The Central Ohio Transit Authority restored some services on Monday as more commuters head back to workplaces. COTA buses will pick up passengers again on 14 express routes covering a wide area around Central Ohio. The transit agency will also add weekend trips from downtown Columbus to the Columbus Zoo starting May 8 and 9. Daily “Zoo Bus” service will begin May 31 and run through Labor Day. COTA officials said ridership is down more than 50% since the COVID-pandemic started last March. COTA says service will not be restored yet for the AirConnect route between Downtown and John Glenn Columbus International Airport since business travel has not recovered.
