Feb. 21: The Rev. Christian McMullan will conduct the 8 a.m. Holy Communion and the 9:30 a.m. Praise services at St. Lukeâs Lutheran Church, Route 73 and Neiffer Road, Obelisk. All are welcome.

Guidelines: We require all church service attendees to wear a mask and practice social distancing of at least 6 feet. We will not be singing as we are accustomed to. Please do not attend services if you feel sick. Weekly services are also offered online via the St. Lukeâs Obelisk YouTube Channel. Our Community Dinner will not be offered until further notice. It is our hope and prayer that everyone stays safe and well during these difficult times.

Sue Baron, 85, of Charles City, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021 in Burnsville, Minnesota with family by her side and the love, prayers, and support of her entire family, dear friends, and her Charles City community.
A service will be planned for a later date.
Sue Claire (McDowell) Baron, the daughter of Clarence and Inez Grace (McKinney) McDowell, was born November 23, 1935 in Topeka, Kansas. She graduated from Manhattan High School in Manhattan, Kansas and continued her education by receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree from Kansas State University where she met Robert “Bob” Baron. Sue and Bob were married for 57 years and were blessed with four children and seven grandchildren. Sue’s life was devoted to her family, friends, community service, and her strong faith.

Helen M. Goplerud, 93, of 11 Rob Roy Lane, Charles City, died Thursday, December 2, 2020 at her home.
