Over the years, she has contributed to the community as a: state commissioner for Amistad curriculum, New Jersey Education Association (NJEA) policy board member, Edison public library trustee, YMCA trustee, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) member, reading specialist/mentor, and volunteer for sports and committees.
