DARLINGTON, S.C. â After a 17-truck wreck effectively ended Kyle Busch Motorsportsâ stranglehold in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race, Sheldon Creed outdueled Ben Rhodes on the final two restarts to win Friday nightâs LiftKits4Less.com 200 at Darlington Raceway.
Driving a No. 2 GMS Racing Chevrolet whose paint scheme was an homage to the late Jason Leffler, Creed took the lead from runner-up Rhodes in a side-by-side battle after a restart on Lap 140.

After a 17-truck wreck effectively ended Kyle Busch Motorsports stranglehold on the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, Sheldon Creed outdueled Ben Rhodes on the final two restarts to win Friday night s LiftKits4Less.com 200 at Darlington Raceway.
Driving a No. 2 GMS Racing Chevrolet whose paintscheme was a homage to the late Jason Leffler, Creed took the lead from runner-up Rhodes in a side-by-side battle after a restart on Lap 140.
After Danny Bohn s spin brought out the 11th caution of the race on Lap 141, Creed prevailed once again on a Lap 146 restart when Rhodes got loose, slipped and lost ground. Fittingly, the race ended under yellow for Hailie Deegan s final lap spin on the frontstretch.
DARLINGTON, S.C. (AP) â Reigning NASCAR Truck Series champion Sheldon Creed won for the first time this season, moving past Ben Rhodes on a restart three laps from the end and holding on for victory at Darlington Raceway on Friday night.
Creed raced to his sixth career victory. He’d been shutout since he won the close the 2020 season at Phoenix and capture the truck championship.
He wasn’t much of a factor until the final laps as crashes â including a 17-car pileup with 30 laps left â knocked out several stronger cars including points leader John Hunter Nemechek.
Creed passed Rhodes on a restart seven laps from the end and had some separation until a spinout by Danny Bohn brought out the last of 12 cautions.

In a week of contrasts that featured the unveiling of NASCAR s sleek Next Gen Cup Series cars, Darlington Raceway hosts its immensely popular Throwback Weekend, where race teams pay homage to the past.
But while race fans will see a panoply of paint schemes dedicated to bygone heroes of the sport, drivers will be looking ahead toward the finish line particularly those accustomed to winning who haven t done so yet this year.
At the top of that list are Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick and Chase Elliott, who haven t scratched the win column during the first 11 NASCAR Cup Series events of the 2021 season. Those three drivers combined to win 21 of the 36 points races last year 58.33 percent of the schedule.
