Sindh bans public activity after 8pm

KARACHI/ISLAMABAD: On the recommendations of provincial Task Force on COVID-19, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah Monday announced to impose a ban on movement of people either on foot or in the vehicles from Tuesday to contain the spread of viral disease and directed the provincial administration to implement the ban in letter and spirit.
“Owing to its severity of the COVID-19 situation, a ban on unnecessary movement of people, either on foot or in vehicles, has been imposed after 8 pm. Only those with valid reasons would be allowed to move in the province”, Syed Murad Ali Shah said while presiding over a meeting of COVID-19 Task Force.

ISLAMABAD: The national tally on Saturday of total active COVID-19 cases recorded 63,436 with 4,007 more people tested positive for the deadly virus and 3,712 people recovered from the disease during the last 24 hours.
88 corona patients have died during past 24 hours, 80 of whom were under treatment in hospital and eight out of the hospital in their respective quarantines or homes, according to the latest update issued by the National command and Operation Centre (NCOC). During the past 24 hours, most of the deaths have occurred in the Punjab followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Out of the total 88 deaths occurred in the last 24 hours, 40 of them had died who were under treatment on ventilators. There were 4,412 Covid-infected patients under treatment in critical care in various Covid dedicated healthcare facilities in past 24 hours. Gun Rights Activist Tells Congress Education Can Reduce Shootings, Not More Laws
A gun rights activist told the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Thursday that educating the public about gun safety, providing firearms training, and enforcing existing gun laws are the answers to reducing shootings, not more legislation like the two background check bills that recently passed the House.
Dianna Muller founder of the DC Project, a women’s gun rights group, testified in front of the House Sub-committee on Crime, Terrorism, and Homeland Security during a hearing on reducing mass shootings. She said she believes the universal background check legislation currently waiting to be considered by the Senate will only punish law-abiding citizens and prevent less affluent citizens from exercising their Second Amendment rights, instead of preventing shootings.
