Iowa City police have arrested a man they say was present when a man was shot and killed on Feb. 12 inside an apartment on South Governor Street.
Sammy I. Hamed, 22, of Iowa City faces a first-degree murder charge, according to a Monday news release from the police department.
At 7:53 p.m. on Feb. 12, a caller reported to the Johnson County Emergency Communications Center that someone had been shot and killed during a robbery involving several people in an apartment in the 600 block of South Governor Street, according to the Iowa City Police complaint against Hamed.
