Cause of Missing Girl’s Death Is Determined as 14-Year-Old Suspect Charged With Murder
A medical examiner in Florida said that the missing 13-year-old girl who died over the weekend was stabbed to death.
St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office said on Tuesday that a medical examiner confirmed that Tristyn Bailey had died from “sharp force trauma by stabbing,” ruling her manner of death as a homicide. Bailey was reported missing by her family on Sunday and was found deceased hours later.
The office said that 14-year-old Aiden Fucci, the suspect in her death, is now in custody and was charged with second-degree murder.

She was reported missing to police by her family around 10 a.m. on Sunday. People formed search parties to go through wooded areas, or areas near the North Amenity Center where she was last seen.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. The body of a missing 13-year-old Florida girl has been found hours after her family reported her missing Sunday, and a teen boy has been taken into custody in connection with her murder, according to the county sheriff.
Investigators positively identified the body as Tristyn Bailey, who was found dead around 6 p.m. Sunday in a wooded area in the tight-knit community of Durbin Crossing, St. Johns County Sheriff Rob Hardwick said at a press conference Monday morning, Fox News reported.
Hardwick said a 14-year-old suspect has been taken into custody and charged with second-degree murder in the death of Bailey. He said more charges can be added as the investigation continues.
