WASHINGTON (CN) President Joe Biden is expected to restrict travel to India on Tuesday in light of the South Asian country’s spike in Covid-19 caseloads and numerous variants of the disease.
“On the advice of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the administration will restrict travel from India starting immediately,” said White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki in a statement Friday.

Reported COVID-19 cases in Florida surged at the beginning of 2021, with most of January reporting more than 10,000 cases a day. And, the state didn t see percent positivity below 5 percent the entire month, with many daily reports in the double digits.
Since Feb. 4, however, daily reported COVID-19 cases in Florida have remained under 10,000.

highest single-day case number Florida has reported so far is 19,816 for Jan. 6. The report released on Jan. 2 of 31,518 newly-reported cases is higher, but that report combined updates for Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.

According to the Georgia Department of Public Health vaccination website, the number of Bulloch County residents who have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine increased by nearly 3,000 people and jumped from 17% of the population to 21% all since Monday.
However, there wasn’t a massive rush in the past two days on vaccine providers in Bulloch. The large increase in Bulloch and all Georgia counties is actually due to the “Georgia DPH implementing process improvements on the interactive vaccine dashboard,” to more accurately reflect the real number of local vaccinations already administered, said Katie Hadden, public information officer for the Southeast Health District.
