The positivity rate for new cases of COVID-19 in Florida continues to climb. The state Department of Health reported a new case positivity rate statewide for COVID-19 of 7.8% for the week of July 2-8 compared to 5.2% for the week of June 25-July 1. DOH reported a positivity rate for new cases at 3.8% for the week of June 18-24, 3.3% for June 11-17 and 3.4% for June 4-10. In Pasco County, the positivity rate for the week was 7.9% compared to 4.9% for June 25-July 1, 4.2% for June 18-24, 3.9% for June 11-17 and 5.2% for June 4-10. In Pinellas County, the positivity rate increased to 6.1%, up from 3.7% for June 25-July 1, 3% for June 18-24, 2.7% for June 11-17 and 2.3% for June 4-10.
