CLEVELAND, Ohio – The city confirmed 275 new cases of COVID-19 coronavirus in Cleveland on Thursday, Mayor Frank Jackson’s administration said.
One new death was reported. The deaths of 179 Clevelanders have been attributed to the coronavirus. The average age of those who died was 73 years old.
The newly confirmed cases involved patients ranging in age from less than one year old into their 90s.

After four straight days of new daily cases of more than 2,000 cases, Premier Doug Ford said Friday he is holding emergency meetings on the weekend ahead of extended COVID-19 lockdowns in the GTA and southern portions of Ontario.
Shortly before speaking to 113 Ontario hospital executives in an emergency meeting early Friday, Ford told reporters that with Toronto and Peel Grey-Lockdowns about to expire next week, he would likely extend the lockdowns into the new year.

Understanding the numbers
Since mid-July, daily reported COVID-19 cases in Florida remained under 10,000. And, between Sept. 1 and Oct. 16, daily reported cases stayed below 4,000.

highest single-day case number Florida has reported so far is
15,300 for July 11. The report released on Nov. 27 of 17,345 newly-reported cases is higher, but that reported combined updates for Nov. 25 and Nov. 26.
The
738 confirmed on Sept. 28.
On Oct. 30, Florida became the third state to cross the 800,000 reported COVID-19 cases mark. Then on Dec. 1,
Florida became the third state to surpass 1 million confirmed cases. As of Dec. 14, Texas and California have reported more than 1.4 and 1.5 million cases, respectively, according to Johns Hopkins University of Medicine.
