A professor at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine is warning politicians, teachers unions, and other Americans that keeping schools closed is causing more harm to children than COVID-19. A new study, Dr. Marty Makary explained to Fox News’s Tucker Carlson on Tuesday evening, suggests a 91 percent increase in self-harm in children due to lockdowns. In areas with strict government-mandated lockdowns and prolonged school closures, he explained, saw a 300 percent increase in kids seeking medical help after engaging in forms of self-harm. Makary said research also shows a 63 percent increase in overdoses and a large spike in emergency room visits due to “mental illness complaints.”

A large group of people who have naturally-controlled HIV without the need for drugs has been discovered in the Democratic Republic of Congo, leading to hopes of eventually finding a cure, scientists have said. While “elite controllers” of HIV have been found across the globe before, experts believe this is one of the largest groups to date in one region who have naturally-controlled infection. They hope the group could help uncover links between natural virus suppression and future treatments, as scientists work towards finding a cure. Elite controllers are people who maintain low or undetectable viral loads for many years without needing to take antiretroviral therapy (ART).

March 2, 2021 Carolyn Jean (Davis) Headley, daughter of the late Roy Bailey and Lillie May (Knight) Davis, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2021, at  Country Rest Home in Greenwood.  She was born in Fairmont, W.Va., Feb. 4, 1938, and had just turned 83. Carolyn graduated from East Fairmont High School and attended Fairmont State College.  She was a motivated college student, attending summer classes while working two jobs, and graduated in 1959 with a bachelor’s degree in education in just three years.  After college, Carolyn married Jackie Headley, moved to Grafton, W.Va., and started a family.  However, employment opportunities were slim, so they moved to Harford County, Md., in 1962 where she was hired as an elementary school teacher in Dublin.  A year later she transferred to the Home Economics Department at Edgewood High School, where she walked to work because she didn’t have a driver’s license until the mid-1960s.  Carolyn continued her education atten
