JOHNSTOWN Johnstown Junior Konner Mancini has chosen the Johnstown Junior-Senior High School as the site for his Eagle Scout project with the Boy Scouts of America. Mancini will plant a tree to commemorate the COVID-19 pandemic and celebrate the strength and resiliency that Johnstown educators, staff and students have shown throughout the past year.
The tree planting dedication, which is planned for Arbor Day today starting at 2:30 p.m. in the bus circle, located near the main entrance of the Johnstown Junior-Senior High School, 1 Sir Bills Circle.
Konner will begin the process of planting the tree at 2:30 p.m. Friday, with dignitaries, school officials, family, friends and fellow Scout colleagues arriving on-site between 2:30 and 3 p.m. COVID-19 safety protocols will be observed.
