The Hickory Crawdads smoked the Aberdeen IronBirds 20-2 on Friday night. The ‘Dads hit 5 homers and picked up 23 hits off Aberdeen.
Kellen Strahm sparked a rally for the ‘Dads in the bottom of the first, starting off the inning with a single and advancing to second on a fielding error. Justin Foscue hit a line drive double to left to bring in Strahm for the first run of the game. Blaine Crim smoked his 15th homerun of the season to put the Crawdads ahead 3-0.

The Hickory Crawdads split Sunday’s doubleheader against the Aberdeen IronBirds. They lost the first game 6-2 but rallied in the second to win 6-5.
The afternoon began with the resumption of Saturday night’s game in the third inning. The ‘Dads were leading 1-0 thank to a homerun by Justin Foscue.
The IronBirds scored two in the third to take the lead. Both runs were charged to Saturday’s pitcher Avery Weems as he had allowed them on base before the game was suspended. Grant Wolfram, who began the day on the mound, pitched 4.1 innings. He allowed three runs (two earned), gave up four hits, walked three, and struck out eight. Joe Corbett entered the game following Wolfram and gave up a homerun on his first pitch, making the score 6-1 in favor of the IronBirds.

Game one featured a first-pitch home run to Miguel Aparicio, giving Hickory a 1-0 edge.
The Dash offense exploded in the second inning as Hickory starter Zak Kent gave up two homers to put the Dash ahead 4-1.
Hickory answered in the third with two homers of their own to tie the game at 4. Jake Guenther blasted a leadoff solo bomb, followed by a Blaine Crim two-run home run to mark his 12th on the year.
