Ranchi: The state cabinet chaired by chief minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday approved the state cabinet coordination department’s proposal to convene.
Ranchi/Ramgarh/Bokaro: Governor Droupadi Murmu presided over the state celebrations to observe the 72nd Republic Day in Ranchi.
The R-Day function held at the Morhabadi ground did not have cultural events this year in view of the pandemic. Children and citizens above 60 years were missing from the audience as well. The size of the crowd was less than 3,000.
In her address, Murmu underscored the challenges faced by the Jharkhand government in mitigating the pandemic. She also said that due to the concerted efforts of health workers, police personnel and other frontline workers, the adverse effects of the pandemic were relatively lesser in the state.

DUMKA: Chief minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday said the state government is working on a new domicile policy and will reserve 75% jobs in the private sector for locals with an aim to ensure social and economic justice to the people of Jharkhand.
Addressing the gathering after hoisting the Tricolour in sub-capital Dumka on the 72nd Republic Day, Hemant said 2021 will be the year of employment generation and recruitments for Jharkhand. “Our government has resolved to dedicate this year to employment generation. Our aim is to provide employment to the maximum possible number of people,” he said.
