REAL ID Deadline Extended Again For Georgia, Rest Of Nation

UpdatedTue, Apr 27, 2021 at 3:37 pm ET Reply A U.S. passport is one of several documents you can use in Georgia to prove your identity for the purposes of a REAL ID card. (Shutterstock / piaphotography) GEORGIA U.S. residents will have an additional 19 months to get their REAL ID after the Department of Homeland Security delayed the requirement for air travelers to have a REAL ID-compliant form of identification by Oct. 1. The deadline has been postponed until May 3, 2023, for Georgia and all other states. Officials said the new delay is due to the pandemic, which is making it harder for people to get into state motor vehicle departments and get the new IDs. Fewer than 50 percent of Americans have obtained their REAL ID.

Fact Check the Left: Does Georgia s New Law Really Limit Voting Rights?

Share Source: AP Photo/Ringo H.W. Chiu Georgia is back to its Jim Crow days, except it’s not. We’ve seen a lot of noise about the latest voting bill in Georgia. Democrats, the liberal media, and other progressives are livid over it. It contains security mechanisms that combat voter fraud. I know, how awful, right? Voter ID is now required for both in-person voting and mail-in ballots. That’s really the main issue here. That’s it.  The bill doesn’t allow for polling locations to close earlier. President Biden decided to toss that hand grenade into the tent. It’s an outright lie. It’s the Left’s Big Lie if you will and I’m sure there are scores of liberals and reporters who believe it. It’s formed the basis to resurrect a slew of false liberal narratives, especially the it s easier to buy a gun (or do any activity) than vote.

Within days, major corporations, including Georgia-based Coca-Cola and Delta, along with CBS News parent company ViacomCBS, spoke out against the bill, and Major League Baseball pulled its All-Star Game out of Georgia a day after President Biden threw his support behind the idea.

Georgia Secretary Of State Sets The Record Straight On New Voter-Access Law

by Tyler Durden Wednesday, Apr 07, 2021 - 01:00 PM And just like that the liberal blue-check-mark brigade falls out of love with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensberger ( who as a reminder, refused to support former President Trump s claims that Georgia s 16 electoral votes were stolen from him).. Congrats on losing independents! Matt Kelley (@mattkelley018) April 7, 2021 It s a shame that you acted in ways to earn our respect, and then reversed course. Mask-Wearing Social Distance Warrior (@collagecandy) April 6, 2021 His crime - simple - daring to tell the truth about Georgia s New Voter-Access Law. Raffensberger tweeted about the hypocrisy: I’ll keep telling the truth about our election systems, even though I know @POTUS, @ReverendWarnock, and @staceyabrams care more about money and partisan outrage.
