22-year-old drowns in Lake Hartwell

Author: Aprylete Russell Updated: 10:14 PM EDT July 4, 2021 GEORGIA, USA The Georgia Department of Natural Resources has confirmed that a 22-year-old man has drowned after going under the waters of Lake Hartwell on Sunday evening. According to officials, Georgia Game Wardens were called to the area of Big Oak Recreation on the lake around 6 p.m. There, they learned that the victim was pulled from the water by another swimmer who performed CPR until EMS personnel took over. However, he did not survive. Authorities are withholding the victim s name pending the notification of his family.

Animal services got a call from Wednesday night saying that the cat was in the woman s bedroom. Kristine Frank told CNN the animal was just inches from her face when she woke up. Frank scared the cat out of her bed and slowly left the bedroom while her husband opened a door leading outside, allowing it to leave.

The woman s husband was able to snap a picture of the cat before it left their property. Fortunately WSB-TV says neither the woman, nor her husband were hurt during the encounter. We re told DNR officials believe the cat is now in the area of the Capital City Country Club, which is located between Buckhead and Brookhaven.
