Bulloch waiting on initial COVID vaccine County records 29 new cases on Sunday alone While awaiting the first vaccines to be delivered locally, Bulloch County recorded 29 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, its worst single day for cases since Sept. 23. Public Safety/Emergency Management Agency Director Ted Wynn, said Bulloch recorded 50 new cases for Saturday, Sunday and Monday combined. Bulloch has now recorded 3,561 total COVID cases, which have resulted in 35 deaths and 156 local residents being hospitalized since the pandemic began in March.

Georgia sets another single-day case record State averaging 4,765 new COVID cases per day Eight days after setting a single day record for most new COVID cases, Georgia set another record Friday, with 6,149 confirmed cases and completed its worst week for new coronavirus infections since the pandemic began in March. The Georgia Department of Health said in its daily report that the state had 33,361 new cases in the past seven days, an average of 4,765 cases per day. Also, a record number of people continue to remain in state hospitals in Georgia with confirmed COVID-19 infections, another signal that infections are now more widespread than at the previous summer peak, as public health authorities sought to raise the alarm that the coronavirus is spreading unabated across the state.

COVID vaccines continue Georgia rollout Cases, hospitalizations up slightly in Bulloch Bulloch County reported only one new COVID-19 case Tuesday, but recorded 26 new cases on Wednesday and hospitalizations at East Georgia Regional Medical Center reached a five-week high Wednesday, as well. Public Safety/Emergency Management Agency Director Ted Wynn said the 16 hospitalizations at East Georgia are the most since 16 also were being cared for on Nov. 6. Wynn said the 27 new cases for Tuesday and Wednesday combined mean Bulloch has now recorded 3,486 total COVID cases, which have resulted in 35 deaths and 156 local residents being hospitalized since the pandemic began in March.
