Below is the full text of the Article of Impeachment introduced Monday in the U.S. House that charges President Donald Trump with incitement of insurrection, as provided by the office of Rep. Bill Foster, a Naperville Democrat:
RESOLUTION
Impeaching Donald John Trump, President of the United States, for high crimes and misdemeanors.
Unity!
Is it any wonder why Trump will become the first president since 1869 to skip the inauguration of his successor? Aside from this (second) fraud of an impeachment, Trump truly believes in his bones that the election was stolen from him by his successorâs party.
Hillary Clinton can relate. She said in October, just weeks before Election Day and
four years after her defeat, â
I was the candidate that they basically stole an election from.â She continued, âI absolutely thought I was going to win.â Yeah, well, so did Trump and his supporters.
âOur election was hijacked. There is no question.â Oops. That was Nancy Pelosi in May 2017. On Twitter.
On Monday, House Democrats introduced a resolution to impeach President Donald Trump for "high crimes and misdemeanors," claiming that he incited an insurrection against the government by asserting that there was widespread fraud in the 2020 election and by making statements that "encouraged lawless action at the Capitol."
