2021 President’s Cup Business Plan Competition
The President’s Cup (formerly the Trepp Competition) is the culmination of SNC’s business plan competition series. It uses the same rubrics and criteria as the pre-2018 statewide and tri-state business plan competitions. The judges come from both the faculty and the North Shore business community. The competitors are judged on their written business plan; their ability to adapt and incorporate feedback into a revised written plan; and finally, live oral presentations.
The President’s Cup presentation evening is one of the most exciting events of the academic year. It attracts an enthusiastic audience from both the college and community. The teams present their business ideas to a panel of external judges. Their presentations use PowerPoint, video, and sometimes working physical prototypes. The Lexington Legends announced today that they have agreed to terms with nine new players. The list is highlighted by former Major Leaguers, Josh Ravin & Mike Hauschild. Louisville Cardinal, and Owensboro Kentucky native, Cole Sturgeon is joined by former EKU Colonel right-handed pitcher Bryan Quillens adding two more names with local ties on the 2021 Legends roster. Additionally, joining the roster are former MLB minor leaguers; Nick Lovullo, Tilman Pugh, Ty’Relle Harris, D.J. Peterson, and Courtney Hawkins.
Ravin has spent 14 seasons in professional baseball including appearances in the Major Leagues with the Atlanta Braves and Los Angeles Dodgers. Originally drafted in the 2006 June Amateur Draft by the Cincinnati Reds, the right-handed pitcher has also spent time in Japan pitching for the Chiba Lotte Marines. In 35 big league games, Josh has a record of 2 wins, 3 losses with an ERA of 5.12.

The Hoptown Hoppers announced today the first three players for the 2021 season. The trio all play at Georgia Highlands College. They are: Patrick Walker-a catcher from Flowery Branch, GA, left handed pitcher Garret Sagro from Cumming, GA and middle infielder Zayd Brannigan of Kennesaw, GA. The Hoppers open the season on June 3rd hosting Full Count Rhythm-the new team in the Ohio Valley League-at Christian County High School’s Colonel Field at 6:30 pm.
