I saw the band Zephyr when I was in high school, and I was just like, ‘Wow, what an amazing band! I just kind of said to myself, ‘I m going to join that band one day.’” In the early ’70s, Turner moved to Boulder to study liberal arts at the University of Colorado, and after playing in the band Mother Earth, he did finally get that guitar spot in Zephyr in 1980, four years after the death of guitarist and co-founder Tommy Bolin. Bluesfest to go ahead in October 2021 Words by Will Brewster The festival has just announced its rescheduled dates. After being cancelled in heartbreaking circumstances just one day prior to kicking off in April due to COVID concerns, Bluesfest Byron Bay have now released their intended dates for their rescheduled 2021 event. As reported by Double J, the festival will now occur at Byron’s Tyagarah Tree Farm from Friday October 1 through to Monday October 4, almost six months after its original dates. An announcement on the Bluesfest website also hints that the lineup for the rescheduled festival will also land next Wednesday on May 19, giving punters a second chance to relive all their Byron festival dreams once again.
