Southern Cape police spokes-person, Capt Malcolm Pojie
GEORGE NEWS - Nine youths between the ages of 16 and 19 were arrested on suspicion of murder shortly after the death of Manelisi Nqangiso (26) in Thembalethu, George last weekend.
The incident occurred at 01:40 on Sunday morning, 13 December, in Lukhanyo Street, Zone 6.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson Capt Malcolm Pojie, it is alleged that the group assaulted the victim. Paramedics declared him dead on the scene after he had succumbed to multiple stab wounds. Further investigation resulted in the arrest of a 19-year-old as well as eight juveniles aged between 16 and 18. They appeared in the George Magistrate s Court on Tuesday 15 December on a charge of murder. The investigation is ongoing, said Pojie.
