GEORGE NEWS - An intelligence driven operation has resulted in the arrest of a 51-year-old suspect on Tuesday night at Lawaaikamp in connection with an armed robbery and cash-in-transit heist that took place at a local organic fresh fruit produce market in George industrial area during December 2020.
The team comprising of the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation assisted by Crime Intelligent, Public Order Policing (POP), Eden Cluster Crime Combating Team and Local Criminal Record Centre (LCRC) acted on information about a suspect at a house allegedly in possession of a large amount of cash.

GEORGE NEWS - An argument between two men led to the death of another on Sunday 20 December in Figland Street, Borcherds, George.
According to Conville police station commander, Col AB Kriga, officers arrived on scene to find the body of a 29-year old man, covered in blood. According to a witness the suspect and the deceased s brother were involved in an argument.
The deceased tried to intervene and was stabbed in the neck with a sharp object. He died on the scene, said Kriga.
The suspect was arrested and is scheduled to appear in the George Magistrate s Court today, Wednesday 23 December.
