Yasmin stresses on awareness to check corona spread

LAHORE: Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid said here Monday that there was an inverse link between number of vaccinated people and the number of new infections hence everyone must get them vaccinated.
Speaking at the MoU signing ceremony between the Minister’s Delivery Unit, Health Department and University of Central Punjab, the health minister said that awareness among youths was a key to stopping the spread of COVID-19. She gave away prizes to students for producing outstanding video products, including documentaries and posters on themes of vaccination refusals and reluctance.
Court seeks copy of Mandokhail’s complaint against Firdous Ashiq Awan

A district and sessions court on Saturday ordered the police to submit a copy of the complaint submitted by Pakistan People’s Party lawmaker Qadir Khan Mandokhail against special assistant to Punjab chief minister for information Firdous Ashiq Awan.
The additional district and sessions judge (District West), Sarah Junejo, directed the station house officer of the Saeedabad police station to bring the document to the court on the next hearing.
MNA Mandokhail had moved an application in the court, seeking the registration of an FIR against Awan, who is also a leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, for slapping him during a TV show on July 6.
KARACHI: Special Assistant to the Punjab Chief Minister Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan made headlines on Thursday after footage of her getting into a physical altercation with PPP legislator Qadir Khan Mandokhail went viral on social media.
The incident occurred when the two politicians appeared on Kal Tak, a talk show of Express News hosted by senior journalist Javed Chaudhry, Dawn.com reported.
Things began to heat up when the PPP leader mentioned Dr Awan’s comments on the Ghotki train crash. (At a press conference, she had reportedly said that “by the grace of God” this was the first train accident of this year.)
