Olney, IL, USA / WSEI Freedom 92.9 FM | The Best Country in America Jan 11, 2021 8:12 AM (NEWTON/OLNEY) A note from the Jasper County Health Department in Newton and the Richland County TB & Public Health Office in Olney, in regards to the COVID-19 vaccination process. While both offices continue to work their way through Phase 1A, which is providing coronavirus vaccinations for healthcare personnel and long-term care facility residents and staff, the offices cannot move to Phase 1B until the State Department of Public Health says they can. The last word from the Governor’s office was that Phase 1B COVID-19 shots would not be available around the state for another two weeks, until maybe the last week of the month. Phase 1B will include vaccinations for those age 65 and older along with all frontline essential workers, the sheltered population, homeless/day programs, and inmates.   (OLNEY) The Richland County TB & Health Office in Olney reported twenty-two (22) new COVID-19 on Wednesday, but no new deaths. Yesterday’s updated numbers now show 1,437 confirmed coronavirus cases involving Richland County residents, with 38 deaths, 1,213 people recovered, 142 quarantined, 186 in isolation, and 13 hospitalized. There have been 17,413 tests in Richland County with 15,976 negatives. For COVID-19 testing at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney, use the front parking lot “B” off of North East Street, with testing available from 8:00 each morning to 6:00 each evening, seven days a week. (NEWTON) The Jasper County Health Department in Newton reported seventeen (17) new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday. Yesterday’s updated numbers show 938 coronavirus cases involving Jasper County residents, with 15 deaths, 824 recovered, 140 quarantined, 99 in home isolation, and 4 hospitalized.
