BEAUMONT, Texas The suspect in the murder of a Jasper County veteran last week is behind bars in the county now.
Dalton Hinch was transferred to the Jasper County Jail Thursday night after being arrested in Orange County.
His bond has now been set at $2 million according to jailers.
Hinch was taken into custody in Vidor in the 800 block of West Davis at about 5 p.m. Thursday following a joint operation involving Jasper and Orange County deputies, Texas Rangers, Vidor Police and the Precinct Four Constable s Office.

The Jasper County, Missouri Sheriff’s Office indicated Monday that the apparent weekend suicide of Justin Stevens is expected to bring an investigation of the slaying of a Sarcoxie woman to a close sometime this week.
Capt. Derek Walrod of the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department said the investigation in the death of Becci D. Sanders, 46, remains open at this time, with investigators still working leads.
“But we aren’t looking for any other suspects,” Walrod said. “He was our only suspect.”

JASPER COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - Investigators with the Jasper County Sheriffâs Office are looking into the death of an 80-year-old man who was found dead at a home just outside of the Jasper city limits Friday night.
Sheriff Mitchel Newman told East Texas News that JCSO deputies were asked to do a welfare check at a home off of Oleen Street south of U.S. Highway 190, just outside of the Jasper city limits at about 8 p.m. Friday. When the deputies got to the scene, they found Guadalupe Naranjo dead inside.
