HOUSTON â An autopsy shed some new light in the death of a missing 5-year-old boy discovered last week in a Jasper, Texas hotel room. Officials said they ve ruled the cause of death as a homicide. The cause of his death is homicidal violence with blunt head trauma, said Michele Arnold, a public information officer with the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. The manner is homicide.

JASPER, Texas – A child found dead in a Texas motel room is believed to be a boy reported missing in Houston, police said.
Authorities had been searching for Samuel Olson, who was reported missing May 27 in Houston. On Tuesday night, police recovered a child s body from a motel room in Jasper, about 135 miles (215 kilometers) northeast of Houston, and authorities believe it is the boy, Houston police Chief Troy Finner said.
A possible suspect was being questioned and more information was expected to be released later Wednesday, Finner said.

JASPER, Ind. (WFIE) - Mayor Dean Vonderheide outlined several projects in the works to improve the city on Tuesday.
He said that infrastructure improvements are the top priorities right now.
“Some of our water lines are almost a hundred years old, so it’s time,” Vonderheide explained.
Improving drainage and sanitation are part of the major downtown revitalization project, which he said they’re just now getting to work on.
“It was shelved back in 2017 in order for the cultural center to move forward, so we picked it back up,” he said.
