The Parliamentary Joint Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade’s new enquiry – accepting submissions until 4 August – is exploring key focus areas in the Department of Defence annual report 2019-2020 including space-based intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR); cyberspace warfare; issues around workforce growth; and management of Defence’s more than $28.2b worth of buildings and infrastructure.

Jindalee Resources and JV partner identify gold potential of Maynard’s Dam Prospect Torque Metals signed an agreement in 2020 with Jindalee to earn an 80% interest in exploration licences on the eastern edge of the Widgiemooltha Project including Maynard’s Dam Prospect. SensOre is earning a 51% stake in the prospect by expending $3 million over a three-year period. Maynard’s Dam lies north of the Paris and HHH Gold Projects in the Coolgardie goldfields of WA. Historical scout drilling records at Maynard’s Dam indicate drilling intercepts of up to 3 metres at 28 g/t gold. A desktop review, compilation of historical exploration activity and reprocessed newly available gravity geophysics at 100 metres x 200 metres spacing undertaken by SensOre has provided enhanced information on the lithologies and structures controlling mineral potential in the area and will be used to assist identifying drill site locations on the DPT

Top gainers S&P/ASX 200 (INDEXASX:XJO) gained 0.08% to 7,334.6 points by about 2.30 pm as NSW reported 38 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, the highest number of daily cases recorded in more than 14 months. NSW Premier said the latest case numbers are too high and pleaded with people to stop visiting extended family, and to limit compassionate care visits to a single person.
